June 2008 has been a very exciting month for the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation. We introduced new workshops and programs, in the shape of Fiber Arts, Ceramics and Welding. We will also begin our new Summer Concert Series, and that season will begin with the welcome return of Ken Gaines and Karen Mal to the Pavilion on June 22nd. The Texas Hill Country will once again be alive to the tuneful sound of these singer/songwriters.
Regular visitors to the Ranch this summer - our buddy, 'Freddie'. Freddie's *smiling* face greets our staff members every morning that they arrive at the Ranch. Freddie is a 'ranch regular' in every respect. If he starts taking classes, he can bring along a friend and qualify for our Refer a Friend program!
More regular (and very human) visitors to the Ranch are the Boerne Boys & Girls Club. The boys and girls take a class out at the Ranch every Monday evening with our friend and children's instructor, Pat Farley. A few weeks ago, after the children had arrived, their bus caught fire - fortunately without any harm to any children or supervising adults of the Boerne Boys & Girls Club. The valiant Boerne Fire Service were soon on hand, but the bus could not be saved and was sadly burned to a shell. The bus remains were recently removed, and this whole event was chronicled by our trusty camera man, Tim Thompson.
Boerne Boys & Girls would be grateful for any contributions to help them to replace this bus. You can contact Jessica Moore at Boerne Boys & Girl Club, PO Box 206, Boerne, TX 78006 if you wish to help them out.
For a while this month, our sign came down at the entry way to the Majestic Ranch. This was all in a good cause, though, because we will shortly be unveiling a brand new sign, which will allow us to let you know what is going on at the Ranch, even as you drive past! Look out for that.
