Drawing Supplies

 

Additive Tools

-Charcoal drawing pencils, soft hardness 7B-9B

-Graphite pencils, soft 7B-9B

-Vine/Willow charcoal, soft, varied widths from 1/8” thin to 1” thick. At least 1 extra-large stick

-Compressed charcoal sticks, black – sometimes labeled incorrectly “pastels”

-Graphite Stick, optional

-Conte crayon (white and/or sepia, sanguine).

 

Subtractive Tools

-2 Artgum erasers  

-1 Kneaded erasers

-Tuff-Stuff Brand (click-pen type) erasers, black pen-white eraser inserts (also sold separately)

           

Paper

-18” x 24” Newsprint or Bristol Drawing Pad with a sturdy cardboard backing, 15-50 sheets

Don’t buy 100 sheet pads

 

Other

-Tackle Box, Tool Box or Art Box for supplies

-Large metal bulldog clamps (4)

-A handheld pencil sharpener.

-Q-tips or paper stump blenders

 

Optional supplies:

-1 Can of aerosol spray-fixative for charcoal drawings

-Cutting tool, scissors or utility knife

-One straight edge ruler or wooden yardstick at least 24” in length
