Silk Painting Workshop

Program Details

Audience: All levels

Learn several approaches to painting silk using Procion dyes.  These dyes produce brilliant colors that are washfast and do not require steaming.  Participants will create several finished pieces, including scarves and fabric that can be used to create a pillow, wallhanging, table runner or quilt.  Techniques covered include the serti technique which uses a water-based resist, colorwash to create abstract designs and thickened dyes that are painted on the silk.  Taught by Lisa Kerpoe.
